Great Opportunities

Currently we employ over 1300 staff across the organisation., the vast majority of our staff are employed to deliver our frontline services to the public of Scotland and are based at either one of our regional or local centres (see About NHS 24). Our frontline roles include Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Advisors, Pharmacy Advisors, Dental Nurses, Call handlers and Health Information Advisors. We are currently piloting the introduction of 2 new roles, that of Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Physiotherapy Advisors. Please visit our “Fantastic Jobs” page to see the list of current vacancies and view job descriptions for vacant roles.

A significant number of our frontline staff work part-time with us, combining their role with either another clinical role elsewhere or chose to do so because this role fits around their personal commitments. At NHS 24 we offer flexible opportunities for both full time and part time working. Part time working hours vary, you could work as little as 12 hours each week with us or as many as 30, with a number of other rotas in between on offer as well. Pharmacy Advisors can work as few as 6 hours per week, and we are currently piloting a 6 hour working week for Nurse Practitioners and Advisors. Our Associate Directors of Nursing and/or recruitment team are happy to discuss options with you.

In a recent survey the vast majority of our staff stated that they believed working for NHS 24 was a very good addition to their CV. Our frontline staff start their working life with us by undertaking a second to none induction programme, thereafter there are excellent opportunities for further professional and career development (more details on our training page). We offer a high quality work environment with superb modern facilities.

At present we have a number of vacancies for a variety of frontline roles. (please refer to “Fantastic Jobs” page for further details). Opportunities are available at each of our main centres, including our new Cardonald Centre. Details of our centres can be found on the next page “About Us”. In addition to our main centres, opportunities may exist within our local centres, details again can be found on the next page. Our recruitment team would be delighted to discuss these options with you.
