Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

What’s it like being a Mental Health Nurse with NHS 24?

It’s 01:30hrs and Jane a young single mum is calling. She is very distressed and feels hopeless. She has cut her arm with a knife and has a pile of pills ready to take.

Can you help her?

Yes you can if you are an experienced RMN/RMNH who can do his or her job blindfolded. You’ll need to remain calm as you multi-task and use your highly developed communication skills to safely triage her needs and arrange the right help.

You will receive a comprehensive 6 week induction and training programme to prepare you for this challenging and rewarding role. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll be supported by a team leader, coach and clinical supervisor: a range of up-to-date, evidence-based resources are provided and your colleagues will be there to help you at all times.

This is a unique opportunity to enhance and expand your existing transferable skills and stretch yourself clinically as you’ve never done before.
