About NHS 24

NHS 24 is a Special Health Board, we are a national organisation delivering services to a population of approximately 5.1 million people covering 31, 510 square miles. Our annual report will give you lots of information about the service that we offer. Our service is unique, in addition to the triage and consultation service our nurses offer, we also employ a variety of other frontline clinical and non clinical roles: Health Information Advisers, Pharmacy Advisors, Dental Nurses, Breathing Space Special Helpline Advisers to name but a few. So should you chose to come and work with us, you will be part of a large multi disciplinary family.

We have four main regional centres:

West Coast of Scotland Centre:

We also have smaller, local centres within host Health Boards. These give people access to the best local knowledge possible. These centres work collaboratively with the staff in our main centres.
